Values
At Woollybutt we are lead by our values. They guide our practice, our interactions with others and the decisions we make as a business. We find our values help keep us focussed on what truely matters.
OPTIMISTIC
At Woollybutt we often work with people and their supports when they are in a challenging space and people often feel that there is nothing that can be done. They can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel so we aim to bring some hope back with the view that there is ALWAYS something that works.
SOLUTION FOCUSED
We ask ourselves, What can we do to help work through this problem or this challenge to create a positive outcome or experience? By focussing on where we need to go we help to create better outcomes for the people we work with.
WORKING TOGETHER
Two heads are always better than one, especially in tricky or complex situations. Collaboration with the person we support, their families and support networks is crucial to achieving positive outcomes. We value social connections and contribution to community and building capacity.
PERSON CENTRED
For us it is all about the person we are working with. What is going to help them have the best quality of life possible?
This means that the work we do is based on their wishes, needs and aspirations. Sometimes this means we help shift the focus back to the individual and their needs rather than on the systems around them.
UPHOLDING HUMAN RIGHTS
So often the rights of People with Disabilities are overlooked, and restrictions are placed without thinking. We work
to uphold people’s rights and create opportunities so they can fulfil them.

CURIOUSLY DISRUPTIVE
At Woollybutt Specialist Services we value curiosity and creativity. We believe that being ever curious leads us to seek, question and challenge the status quo.
It encourages us to bring our heart and minds into situations, tasks and goals – leading to a disruptive stance. It leads one to seeing an opportunity in everything.
